On Friday our Year 6 class met up with our friends from Broadbridge Primary School to begin working on this year's Shared Education Intergenerational Programme.
The classes were split into two groups and mixed between the schools. One group went to Templemoyle Nursing Home and participated in a story telling session with lots of the residents. The other group went off to Longfield Nursing Home where they got to experience lots of arts and crafts.
When the children got back to school, they were absolutely buzzing! They had thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with the residents and loved listening to some of the stories they had to tell. The children were an absolute credit to the school and their families with the respect they showed to the residents. A very humbling experience for Miss Crooks and Mrs McElreavey. Both kids and adults can't wait to go back next Friday.
